My Very Own "Mommy Missile"

Never in my life would I have imagined that I would be excited about a minivan. Obviously as you 'mature' (that's what I'm calling it I guess) your ideas change. I am in love with our new van. It's not the newest, prettiest or fanciest minivan-but I love it. There's space. There's a built in DVD player. My kids each have their own row so no more hitting eachother. Violet named it Silvermist. I am SO glad to have it!!!!

San Diego? High Fives all around!

After LOTS of soul searching and outweighing LOTS of pros and cons, we've decided on San Diego for Law School. This may come completely out of the blue because all I've ever said is how I wanted to stay here. I am so afraid of getting out of my comfort zone that I never take any risks. I'm ready to grow a pair and take one. (Especially since Travis has always had San Diego as his first choice).

I know this is going to be an incredibly difficult thing for me to do. I know that I'll miss my family. I know I'll miss the Mama Mafia (nothing compares to you) and I know I'll miss the comfort of a familiar area. I love this city with all my heart but there's so much out there to see and experience! I'm not worried about Violet making friends because she starts school in the fall and she's awesome at making new friends (I could actually take some lessons from her!) and Ollie has no idea what's going on. He'd be happy anywhere and so would Trav-especially if he could skate 365 days out of the year! I just know that I'd kick myself for passing this opportunity up.

Now that We've made this decision. I feel: Excited, Content, Happy, Positive. All the things I'd hoped for...........

Ok law school-Bring it on!

The eye twitch in my left eye is because of this. One reason and one reason only. I hate waiting. We've been waiting to hear back from these Colorado law schools for my entire life. All I want to know is where am I going to live?! Is that so much to ask?! The reason I'm in such a hurry is that this little chica growing in my nether regions is not going to wait for an answer. Apparently airlines aren't real stoked on you flying over 8 months pregnant. Hmmmm-I wonder why? I'm also not supposed to drive long distances after this time either. This gives me til June to move. JUNE! Not far away at all.

I feel like I could deal with whatever scenario gets dropped in my lap as long as I find out soon. (Phoenix also accepted so that's another option-Nicole Berkey-I'll be stalking you quite soon if that's the case!) We paid them a holding fee to hold the spot just in case. I think I could deal with Phoenix-I've heard lots of good stuff actually. Looking outside at the white snow coming down-again in Spring-makes it look a lot more charming. Pregnant in that heat-might make me turn into Joan Crawford in "Mommy Dearest." Love me anyway-okay?

My personal message to DU and CU-Look-I'm pregnant and I can't take this much longer. Give me an answer NOW or I'm sure to have a theraputic cry. Again.

Love, Gillian.

"Are you sure it's not a food baby?"

Yes another "WAYTOOLONG" has passed since I've blogged, but the reason is this (it's a good one this time-I promise) I'm pregnant. I've actually been in the second trimester for a while so I could've done this sooner, but well-you know.

I think the fact that I've been in denial for a good part of this pregnancy may have been a good reason too. I keep staring down at my tummy thinking-is there REALLY a new life in there? Maybe it's just gas. Maybe I'm just stressed and skipped 6 cycles. Maybe I'm really emotional because I'm tired. (P.S. eye twitch is back, so the stress thing is a real certainty). I've never dealt with the "surprise!" pregnancy. Especially one that has you due the month your husband is starting law school at GODKNOWSWHERE. Needless to say that this "transition" has been hard for me to process.

It wasn't until my last docotors appt. that I finally got out of my funk. It was because my midwife told me-I'm pretty sure it's a girl. A GIRL! More pink and obnoxious patterns!? YES! I hadn't even purchased anything for this baby until I heard "well I see the hamburger-looks like a girl"

*Hamburger-I believe that is a medical term for the girly junk.

I've already purchased mustard baby skinny jeans and tulip bedding. Stoked. Violet asked for a girl this time-so most importantly I am glad to give her what she wants because heaven knows, if she doesn't the world will surely end. Ollie has no idea-bless his heart. I am glad however that since he's the "middle child" he will be the only boy. Thank goodness because it's not like his heart melting smile and awesome personality get him any attention or anything.
I can for sure say now that I am no longer in denial. I can actually say I'm really excited and glad to be adding to our crazy family. I love you little one.
