Wicked Witch(s) of the West and One (un)Flying Monkey

We went trick or treating with the Millwards and some other friends and had a great time until my little witch (yes, we always have two Halloween costumes for her) biffed it off some steps and candy was strewn out into the snow). Then-she was done. Got LOTS of yummy candy though. Ollie (my monkey) just chilled out in his stroller with a sucker and was totally happy-even with a cough. Man-this boy is like not of this world. LOVE HIM. As for my little witch. We've had some major power struggles around the Brown home lately. She talks herself into fits. What I mean by this is that she will throw her beloved "blankie" and "kitty pink" outside and says she no longer wants them. Then she'll scream and cry for them until I go out and get them. Then she AGAIN throws them outside and says she doesn't want them. On and on and on. This is just one instance. She does this often so she can melt down. I'm still trying to figure out why she does this. We talked to our therapist and she said it's totally normal for this age but to me-it seems crazy. I have talked to my mom and nanny about it too to get their feedback and tried all their suggestions but to no success. I asked my mom why she didn't say to "pop her in the mouth" like she used to do to me-and she replied-"well, that didn't seem to work very well now did it?!" Hahahahah!
Anyway, despite all her major insanity, it all boils down to the fact that she's JUST LIKE ME. I think that's why it makes me so wacky. Then I forget about all this crap when she cuddles with me to watch a movie and holds my hand through it only to tell me "I really love you mom and I'm sorry that sometimes I am naughty." This little sweet tart can be my the biggest button pusher in my life but I can guarantee that there's no one else in the world that understands me like she does. I love you my little witch-Love, the Ultimate, Original Witch.

Halloweenie Treats!!!

It was my job to make treats for the preschool party this year. I think they turned out cute-I didn't burn myself (or the cupcakes) or drop anything on the ground or cut myself or cry! I think it was a success!

Brain Cupcakes
"Bone"sticks
Orange-O-Lantern fruit cups

My little Pink Poodle is the cutest thing I've ever seen. I bet you never would've guessed that she hucked a block at her little brother's cheek and broke skin would you?

Snow Day(s)

When I here the words "Snowed In" I ususally start to have that inner panic. I HATE being housebound. I love to go go go all the time. I've already re-organized everything, cleaned the house, done all the laundry, etc. I decided to make the best of it. Since our little family was stuck inside with two pumpkins, we decided to carve them. Ollie refused to get his hands dirty but was perfectly happy to walk around with a wooden spoon supervising. Travis was proud to carve his without a pattern. It was winking at me. Later on Violet and I decided to make brownies which were gone by the end of the night. We played Barbies, watched movies and stayed in Jammies all day. I have (honestly) gone sans makeup for 3 days. I think that may be record. Man! Are these faces sweet or what!?

Brighten it up baby.

I've been struggling with REALLY wanting to completely re-do my house again. I'll be very grateful when I have someone else's home to stress out about and over analyze. Anyway, I thought that a couple of things needed to be changed to make the space brighten up. I decided to paint this dingy green desk we have BRIGHT yellow. I got a cute table runner and pillow at Goodwill and spray painted my boring white lamp green and I'm happy with the way it turned out! I can't help but thinking about what to do next...................Oh and these beautiful flowers Travis bought me are super easy on the eyes!

I love you Miss Leigh.....

This is WAY overdue considering school has been going on for a couple of months now, but I came across these pictures of Violet's first day and I love them. Especially the one with her enormous backpack.

De-Lish

There is nothing to say about these pictures except-MAN! I love these sweet little faces.

The Saga of the Lost Wallet.....

So last night I was SUPPOSED to go to a birthday party with Lindsay for our friend Jackie. I told her I would bring an appetizer but in typical Gillian Fashion, I read the recipe wrong and my delicious 5 fruit salsa had to chill overnight. An hour before we were supposed to arrive, this wasn't really possible. I decided to pop over to whole foods and buy Jackie some flowers so I wouldn't show up empty handed. At this point we were late and I was getting sweaty (as I usually do when I'm not on time.) So needless to say, I was in an uber-hurry. In all my haste, I left my wallet on top of the car and drove quite a distance to Lindsay's house. I didn't realize it until I got there either. My amazing friends Lindsay and Kyrsten drove with me (back and forth a couple of times) looking for this wallet in the dark on the side of the road. We also went into the surrounding businesses to ask if anyone turned it in. Nothing. Lindsay also pretended to be me immediately and called Whole Foods to give them my information. I was panicking in a bad way and totally crying and feeling sorry for myself. (LAME) By the end of the evening, I cancelled my card and signed a paper for the Police Dept. about "lost items."

Worst of all, I am totally emabarassed about how I reacted and that it even happened in the first place. I came home and was totally pooped after the emotional evening so after I ate horribly fattening (and delicious) fast food Travis brought me to make me feel better, I went to bed.

Later that evening Trav woke me up to tell me that it was back! Some AMAZING individual had picked up my wallet (put all the contents back in when it fell out) came to our complex to find me. (I was at Lindsay's panicking of course). This man gave it to my neighbor who brought it to us last night! With EVERYTHING in it.

This incident restored my faith in humanity and ALSO showed me that having friends like mine is worth a MILLION more than the stupid shit in my wallet.

He's lucky he's so cute.

He does things like this and smiles at me. Then I laugh and he gets away with it. Smart smart little cookie.

"Princess "Purrington"

I'm really a lucky duck that Black Cat Glowing Eyes Candy Corn Brown doesn't slit my throat or smother me in my sleep. When thinking of the haircut she had recently and being chased around by a screaming infant boy. Just to push the envelope a little further I do things like this to her. I think she's going to be a hot dog for Halloween. She'll love it.

My darling little Butt Nugget

Before you read this-understand that I know how immature the following post is. Violet and I love to hear/use new words describing farting. Some of our favorites include:
-Toot
-Poomsie
-Flartie
-Fluff
-Squeak
-Air Biscuit
The thing I love so much about her is that we are one in the same. Unfortunately she won't grow out of it. I sure didn't.
